You're listening to The Jewish Entrepreneur Podcast with Debbie Sassen, Episode 153.

Welcome to The Jewish Entrepreneur Podcast. I'm your host, Debbie Sassen. I went from being a financial adviser, author and chronic under earner to building my business to six figures as a financial planner and money mindset coach. And then, on to multiple six figures as a fulltime money and business coach.

I help entrepreneurs create money making businesses and build wealth using sales and money mindset strategies in alignment with authentic Jewish values. Now, let's dive into today's show.

Hello, my friends, and welcome back to the podcast. Today, I am bringing back to the podcast my friend and colleague Rivka Malka Perlman. Rivka Malka was on the podcast about a month ago. We'll put the link in the show notes.

We were speaking specifically about her journey as a business owner and the fundamental ways to grow your coaching business. But this week we did a masterclass together specifically for life coaches, helping them to build their businesses.

It was such an awesome workshop. We really went deep, and these are usually masterclasses that I give myself. I mean, when I say myself, that I usually give solo. Rivka Malka joined me because we have a brand-new coaching program for new life coaches called Five Figure Accelerator. I'll also give you the link to that in the show notes.

There was so much information and, really, insight that Rivka Malka added to what I normally do, I thought it was important for my listeners to hear what she had to say. I've only brought a portion of our two-hour workshop onto the podcast. It's the section of the masterclass that was specifically focused on money.

I talk a lot, as you know, about money being the underlying thread of your business, because we have to ask for money and we have to set prices. And so many entrepreneurs, women in particular, also men, they're challenged raising their prices; there are a lot of icky feelings, or they feel sleazy raising their prices.

I address it one way and Rivka Malka addresses it a different way. We even went into her personal experience with raising her prices. So I wanted you to hear what we have to say.

Now, before we go into the episode of the podcast today, I want to let you know that I'm having fun in my business in November. As I'm recording this, I have just sent out to my list that I'm going to be putting out an offer on Sunday. That's going to be before you actually listen to this episode, so you're going to miss it.

I have a whole fun plan for my business. If you are not on my email list, you're going to miss these special offers because there's just no timeline between when you hear this episode, when I record it, and when I'm actually just listening to my intuition and dropping fun offers in my business. So I really encourage you to sign up for my newsletter at DebbieSassen.com/newsletter.

Also, if you haven't yet downloaded my free resource on your money mindset, I have a workbook on my website. You can also sign up to my newsletter via this resource. Get the workbook, do the work on your relationship with money, and then, of course, you will also be the first to know when I am having fun in my business.

It's really going to be delightful and joyous. We're going to have dance parties together during November. So let me just tell you where you can find your money mindset workbook: DebbieSassen.com/mindset. That way you can figure out where you are blocked, where your money mindset limitations are, and where do you feel, based on your family of origin story around money, that you don't deserve or you're not worthy of asking for more and receiving more money. So get those resources.

And now let's go into this episode and hear what we have to say about women, money, businesses, and all the things. Let's go.

Debbie Sassen: Okay, 3 Secrets to Making Money as a New (or Old) … seasoned, whatever; not old, like 95 years old. But anyway… life Coach. How to make bank in your coaching business in the next 60 days.

And I chose 60 days for a reason. We're about to jump into November; there are two months left in the year. In the Jewish world, we have just finished all of the holidays for the next six months, right? So people are refocused on their business. We get back to normal.

And also, just in the general world, we're going into a buying frenzy season. People feel like they want to make changes, changes before the end of the year. I mean, you know that there's probably in your stores, in the United States… not in my stores in Israel… all of the Halloween candy and there are the costumes. We do the costumes, obviously, on Purim. But then we get into Black Friday sales, Thanksgiving sales, Christmas sales, Hanukkah sales, end of the year sales.

People want to create change. And as coaches and healers, we are here to support people making change. So I want to invite you to really jump on the bandwagon. Really take the momentum of the next 60 days and see how you can elevate yourself as a coach, how you can show up more visibly, more powerfully, and how you can be in your personal power and really owning the transformation that you have had in your life and what took you to coaching school.

Even if you're not certified, by the way, one of my most successful clients, who is a coach, she has a certification in a certain modality but she never certified as a coach. She took the training but didn't do her case studies. But she is so amazing and so good at the work she does.

So even if you never got that little piece of paper that says you're a coach, I don't want you to think, “I'm a baby coach. I'm a new coach. I'm not really a coach,” because you've had a transformation in your life. You have helped people.

Even if you did only 50 hours of your coaching certification, you never finished 100 hours as an ICF coach, but you've helped people transform their lives. Even as a mommy or whatever you've done, you’ve helped people transform their lives, so you really know what to do.

We're here to help you today, to turn your dream of becoming successful and financially stable as a Jewish life coach. And we want to help you create a clear roadmap that's going to lead you to growing a profitable and sustainable business. And when I say “sustainable”, sometimes we do have ups and downs in our business.

Anybody who's been running a business for the last several months probably had a decline in income during October because… depending on how what your business model looks like… if you weren't actually showing up in your business and receiving clients, it's very possible that your income dropped during October.

Which is nothing to worry about, nothing to be freaked out about, if your income drops during Nisan and your income drops during Tishri. But if we look at the long term of your business, over a year, two years, three years, we want to make sure that the total income of your business is sustainable.

And we don't want you to be burning out working around the clock. We have so much beautiful work to do in the world as wives, as mothers, and daughters, sisters, sisters-in-law… We're not ignoring our families. We're here to help people, help people to transform their lives. But we're not burning out in the process.

So for those of you who don't know me, this is just very quick. I come from a background of investing. I worked on Wall Street I before I moved to Israel. I was an investment manager. And then I transitioned when I left my job at the Bank of Israel working in government. I was a portfolio manager. It's kind of like the Federal Reserve for those of you who are not familiar with our system. I was helping co-manage Israel's multibillion dollar portfolio of foreign currency reserves.

Then I transitioned into financial planning. From that, I moved into the coaching world. But when I was doing my financial planning, I wrote this book, which is available on Amazon. So if you want to learn about investing, check it out on Amazon.

Today, I run the podcast The Jewish Entrepreneur Podcast, which if you haven't heard our beautiful interview, we can share it with you and you can go back and listen to it… it was about a month ago. That is a little bit about me.

But I really want to focus on you, and how you can turn your passion into a legitimate career and a profitable business. Because coaching is a legitimate career. Some of us might think that, no, the people who have coaches are like professional athletes. You want to run in the Olympics. Or you want to be a speaker. You want to lead an organization. You can have an executive coach.

But coaching is really a legitimate career and it's taking off. It takes a little bit of time. If we think about 100 years ago or so, therapy was sort of like… people were very suspicious about it. And it was only therapists working with other therapists until it became very mainstream. And coaching is taking on.

It is becoming more and more mainstream every day. So you don't have to be an accountant or a lawyer or something that you go to school for, like at university. You can create a beautiful, thriving business as a coach. So that is what we are here to help you do.

Rivka Malka: I just want to take a pause there. I want us to all feel the wave of comfort. Here you have a financial planner who worked for the Bank of Israel, who worked on Wall Street, literally telling you what you're doing, training as a coach, is a viable career. And I think that there is a belief somewhere that it's not. That it's a side hustle. That it's not a degree. Or that you can't get enough clients to really make a living.

So just let this be a piece of new information. This is an actual career that can become an actual, viable moneymaking opportunity for you.

Debbie: Yeah, it says here without overworking or over giving. And that's something that we as women want to sort of keep our feelers out for. We don't want to over give. We want to help our clients and support our clients, but we need boundaries around our time and our energy. Because we want to be there for our kids. We want to be there for our spouses.

We want to be there for our parents. If your parents are still alive, you're living in that sandwich generation, right? I’d say your grandkids, right? My daughter, G-d willing, is going to give birth in the next couple of weeks. Beshaah Tovah. And I am her doula. So boundaries, boundaries. Exactly. Thank you, Lily. 100%.

And we don't want you to undercharge. This is something that women in particular, we just know that they undercharge. Because we have thousands of years, generations, of socialization around giving all of our gifts and caring away for free.

That's not a bad thing. I don't want to say that the fact that you're making chicken soup for your neighbor because she just had a baby or she's sick or something like that, or just giving a listening ear to your neighbor for free…

But it has been a societal evolution that women are teachers, nurses, social workers. They're not the high-paying venture capitalists or high-powered lawyers. There are some, but women have been socialized to underprice, discount their prices, bartering. And it ends up in a cycle of underearning.

We also tend to negotiate less, our prices, even if you're working at a paid job. A lot of people just don't negotiate their salary. They just take what they get.

So this is my invitation to you, and this is Rivka Malka's invitation to you, to think about raising your prices where you are and not giving your beautiful G-d-given gifts away for free or very low cost.

Rivka Malka: First of all, it is true that women are underearning across the globe. But specifically in the coaching industry, which is where we're speaking now, this is part of the mentality of thinking, that coaching is not a real job. And that is why we have these ideas about bartering, or I'll charge you less or I'll make it affordable. Because there's not a recognition of this as a legitimate form of actual healing.

And I've been noticing recently lots of other healing modalities are coming into play, such as sound healing and breath work and meditation and all kinds of ceremonies. No one would think of being like, “Charge me less.” No, it just doesn't work like that.

Part of that is because there is a tangible thing, whether it be a breath or a drum, that you can see this is what I'm paying for. But coaches need to understand their own value for themselves first, before being able to give it over to their client. It does not need all of that equipment, all of those things, the tangible things to make it a real thing.

Part of the underearning is that we don't necessarily recognize how much we ourselves… I say myself as a coach and my students… have evolved because of our coaching. How well equipped we are to stand in that healing role for another person. There's nobody who trains as a coach who hasn't done a good amount of their own work.

Debbie: Yeah, 100%. That's exactly the case. Yeah.

Rivka Malka: I would like to also speak to Yehudit and to some others who feel that there are people that can't afford it. There are people that can't afford coaching, and for them there are a few options. There's the option of going to a therapist. There's also the option of working with a student coach.

Debbie: And while we're on this topic, though, I will say I have a friend who lives abroad, she has a nephew here in Israel, and she reached out to me she said, “Hey, Debbie, do you know a therapist for my nephew?” My sonin-law is a social worker. He's not yet taking private clients, but I asked him because I thought he would be a good fit for this person.

So he sent me a WhatsApp message back that said, “Listen, I know someone who will be perfect, and he's expensive; not like you could go to this therapist and negotiate his price. I'll send you his name. And if that's out of the price range, I'll send you some other names as well.”

But the people at the top… if you want to have open heart surgery, the people at the top are the most expensive because they've usually gotten there by refining their skills and developing their skills over time.

Now, a lot of our skills are intuitive, which brings me back to the very beginning. We get to own the fact that we do have intuition. These are our G-d-given gifts. And I will even go so far as to say that as the world moves more robotic… This is not an AI-generated presentation or workshop, okay?... But even surgeries are carried out by robots.

So even doctors, what open heart surgeons did 5, 10, 20 years ago are done more precisely today by robots. Almost the only professions left for people are either in if you want to be in high tech and you want to develop the robots, the AI, and the emotional healing spaces.

And I really think that this is part of the cycle, the rising feminine that’s going to bring us towards the healing and mashiach, you know, bim hera v'yemenos. So I think this is where we get to shine. This is our generation. This is where we do get to charge for the work that we do.

Because although there are AI coaches, and maybe it will help you to solve a quick problem by talking to a robot, to get that deep healing, embodied healing, nervous system work, that's a person that's going to be able to feed off of your energy. A robot will never, ever, ever be able to do that. Well, I don't want to say never, ever. I don't know, they've surprised me already.

And so Devorah is asking, “Do you take insurance or Medicaid?” It's okay if you don't. And those aren't your people if they want insurance or Medicaid. I don't take insurance. I don't know if there is insurance for coaching, maybe in the United States. Certainly in Israel, things like acupuncture can get paid through our HMO system, our Kupot Holim system.

And as Devorah correctly points out, doctors…. some doctors don't take insurance. My dad had an operation in March, and because of Obamacare and everything, he went private for his operation. Because he just wasn't going to get the back operation that he wanted and needed in a timely manner if he waited for insurance. So he paid a pretty penny.

All right. It's not unusual for women to become obsessed with their passion… How many of you coaches put in the chat, yes, me, me, me? We're obsessed with being coaches. But what happens is, rather than going out and sharing our passion with the world… I'm going to have a lot of me's in there.

We take all the classes. We need another certification, another certification, another training, right? You're a life coach, then you have to do breathwork, and then you have to be a this and a that. We try to improve our skill set because we think, and this is misguided thinking… I believe it's a thought error… that if we have a better skill set, that's going to be the thing that's going to get us our clients.

And then we're going to have the confidence to go out and market and talk and ask people to pay us all the money. But really, the confidence comes after going out and doing the work. I recently talked about, in one of my podcast episodes, four things that I learned from Dan Sullivan, his 4 C's. That first we're committed to our work. Then we have to be courageous. We have to go out. We have to make mistakes; we're going to talk about that today. Then we become capable. Then we become confident.

Confident only comes after action. It's beautiful. I have a lot of certifications because I enjoy the work. But I've also gone out and done the work and built the business. So I was able to use the income generated by my business to help me to play, by getting more certifications, right? Yeah, you can keep learning and growing endlessly. And you know what happens when you do that? The world misses out on who you are today.

But we also talked about pricing. If you have one coaching certification… and let's just use simple numbers… maybe for one coaching certification you can charge $100/hour. You get your newest clients, the first clients, at your lowest price.

And maybe by the time you have five coaching certifications, you're charging $500/hour. But you have so much experience because every step of the way you’ve kept growing, and you’ve kept serving, and you’ve kept learning. And that's really where you refine your skill set, is by working with real humans and helping them to transform.

So here's what happens if you end up taking all of the certifications and you just stay in learning mode. By the way, we get dopamine hits by learning, so it's very fun to learn. But what happens is coaches will struggle to find their first, second or third client, and then some of them quit. “No, it's not for me. I couldn't work it out. It's not happening. I don't know what's going on.”

Or they're doing all the things, all the strategies, they're following this business coach, that business coach, they go to a webinar, they go to a course, they listen to podcasts, they're doing all the things, running to networking meetings, and then they just end up exhausted because they've been hustling, hustling, hustling.

They're like, “Oh, my gosh, this is way harder than I thought.” You do need some hustle and some grit, especially in the beginning. Even I was at a networking meeting last night, so there you go. We don't have to stop networking, even when your business is very successful. But what you really want to happen is that you're going to get fully booked where you are today. And then you're going to be super successful, and you're going to feel successful.

But what happens with some people is they do all the hustling, they get fully booked, and then they're abandoning their family. They're like, “You know what? I'm just not going to do this.” I actually saw this recently with someone, about four or five years ago.

We were in a coaching program together and she had some burnout. She had a beautiful group program, and she broke it all down and just went back to one-on-one coaching because she wasn't having time for her family. We don't need to go into details, but that's also something we want to be aware of.

We talked about boundaries, that you know where your boundaries are. And sometimes you set your boundaries by raising your prices. Because maybe you can't work with 25 people a week or 12 people, whatever your family allows you to do. So it doesn't have to be this way if you are in any of one of those three scenarios.

You can build a sustainable and financially successful coaching business without the burnout. All right? And this is going to work for you if you're the mom of a large family, like me, who wants to be available for her kids in the afternoons. That's not my story anymore because my baby is 17. But I left my full-time job when my little baby was not yet a year old yet.

So you can do it if you have littles, you have nursing babies. I have clients who do have nursing babies. One of my clients is going to give birth. I told her yesterday that it's a race between her and my daughter. So you can you can have babies, you can have grandchildren, you can have a wedding and a bar mitzvah.

So many of my clients joined my one-year program between weddings. One of my clients had two weddings, three months apart. She joined my program because she's like, “If I don't do it now, it's just going to get delayed.”

This will also work for if you don't want to be on social media. Some of my clients are just not on social media. There are other ways for you to network and market and find your people.

It'll work for you if you have a spouse and you want to make sure that you guys have time together because, hey, that's why you got married in the first place so that you would spend time together.

All right, so there are two types of entrepreneurs. There is one, “Debbie, I really love what I do and I want to be successful, but I just don't know if I have what it takes. Maybe now isn't the right time for me.” And this is what our brains do.

We have that intuition. We want to be successful. We want to help people change and transform. But that fear, we're going to find a reason… No, but the wedding, the bar mitzvah, the baby, the something or other… and we're going to listen to those negative thoughts that are like, “I'm not sure if this is the right time.” And we're going to talk about this.

But our brain wants comfort. Our brain wants certainty. Our brain wants to see the money in our business before we invest in a business coaching program. And what Rivka Malka and I have discussed, is that her program is amazing. She certifies fantastic coaches. But the skill set of growing a business is a different skill set from learning coaching.

And then there are the people that say, “I'm all in. I'm answering the call. I'm committed 100% to serving my people and making this happen.” So guess what? These are the people I love to work with.

Rivka Malka: Yes, there is a transition. I'm glad that you labeled it. When you are doing your coaching work and you're learning to coach, you're amping up your inner antenna.

You're learning how to hold space, how to be a good listener, how to tune into the other person, how to tune into the sacred space between the two of you. And that's where you're tuned in. And then, when it's time to go take that gift and bring it outwards, it's a different channel entirely.

It's these words, “I'm answering the call. It's out there. I'm servicing people,” real people, not just from my inner space. But literally going out and meeting with real humans, making those connections and servicing.

And making this happen is like a type of Hishtadlus, a type of effort that's beyond tuning in. It's an actual courageous act. So that is why it's a very different skill set.

Debbie: I think that the coaching, like I said, it comes to us, as women… those of us who chose this and we're not accountants… we chose it because it's just so much of who we are. So whatever your dream is, I'm going to share with you now a framework that you can use to make it happen.

And when you lean into this, you'll be able to make it happen faster than you ever thought possible. And these are some testimonials from my clients, people who are just changing the way they're thinking:

“My business has so much value to offer.” She reached her $5K month income goal. That's in dollars. It's one of my U.S. clients. Huge wins. She put something out in the world. No takers. And then what happened?

Rivka Malka: I'm going to read it to you. “I actually succeeded in signing on two new coaching clients this month. I also have one new coaching client signed on for June, already, and two who are deciding. Surpassed my monthly income goal, stuck to my new commitment, and working only one night a week.” That's awesome.

Just check in with yourself. Does anybody out there have a monthly income goal with regard to their coaching? If not, that will give you a little hint of why we're doing this masterclass. It's a whole different framework.

Debbie: Yeah, that's a business. If you watch the stock market at all, or just watch the news headlines, this company met them at the end of October, beginning of November. It’s the third quarter; we're just finishing the third quarter. This company met its third quarter goals. This company fell below…

They have goals. They have forecasts of what their goal is going to be. Now, if they didn't meet their forecast, sales were below what they were anticipating, they're not like, “Aww, man, we're just going to close out. Maybe I wasn't meant to be such and so.” They could be like, “Okay, we didn't meet our goals. Could be the economy is a little bit slow right now. Maybe we have to tweak our marketing a little bit. Our ideal clients have changed. We are not reaching our customers.”

Just think about Coke and Pepsi. If somebody didn't meet their goal, okay, what's Pepsi doing that all of a sudden they're taking away market share from Coca-Cola? Did they go out and start marketing in new and different and more interesting ways? So that's what we're always working on in business.

That's why it's something different from coaching and developing the skill set. But you have to wear two hats. You're the coach who does beautiful, transformational work and you own a business. That's just a different way of thinking about your business, about what your skill set is. And that's not something that a coaching certification will give you.

So I, because I've done it and I see this in my clients, I have 100% belief that success is inevitable for you. Now, we can talk about manifestation, if you follow “law of attraction”. I never really followed it, but people are like, “Oh, I just need to visualize,” and I think visualizing is beautiful.

And as one of my former business coaches said, pray and move your feet. We have to believe it's possible and then we have to go out there and do the work. So we don't sit in our beautiful houses all day long. We don't go to the beach and just wait for the money to fall from heaven. There's no mana from heaven anymore. Guys, we have to go out and do the work.

All right, so if you want to be a fully booked out coach, I can help you. If you want to work only in the mornings when your kids are in school, I can also show you how to do that. If you want to work at night, if you run workshops and things like that, if you want to have a million-dollar business one day, I can help you do that as well.

We just need the roadmap to get you there, and we're going to talk about that now. All right, the business skills are an essential piece of the puzzle, as we've said. That's not what your certification was designed to give you or your healing modality.

So you need to reach clients that you're here to serve. That's part of your marketing. That's part of your outreach. That's part of being visible. If you think about any magazines you read, there’s always ads. I'm not suggesting in this moment that you go and put ads in magazines. But the companies that you buy products from, you know that they exist because they let you know that they exist.

If you are the best kept secret in your neighborhood, people can't find you because you're just hidden, so you need to let people know you exist. You need to create a package, an offer that can serve your clients, and sign them on using a sacred sales process.

I believe in ethical sales. We're not twisting anybody's arm, like I did with my husband 35 years ago. We're not manipulative. We're not sleazy. This isn't bait and switch. This is ethical, sacred sales.

And you want to charge prices that are win, win, win for you, your clients and your family. Because if you're putting your time and energy into your work, you want to make sure that you have money to buy your family pizza.

Rivka Malka: I really want to underline that that took me a little bit to learn. I think probably a lot of women don't take that into account. When you charge better prices for your services, it's a chesed for your family. They are giving up on their mama for that hour and she's making it worthwhile.

When you follow a kind of voice that says, “But I have to meet people where they're at or they're never going to want to pay me, or I have to charge less,” then the family is giving you up not just for that hour, but that energy that you're giving to somebody else, and it's not really getting back. There's not a proper reciprocity. So just thinking about that as a triple win is awesome.

Debbie: Thank you. There are three goals for the masterclass. You're going to learn what to do to grow your business. You're going to understand what packages and offers you need to build or you can build. We're going to give you possibilities. And you're going to be so blown away by everything we have to talk about today that you're going to be like, “Oh, my gosh, Debbie, I want you to coach me every step of the way and help me build my business.”

All right, when you understand how to piece together the pieces of your business, a sustainable, profitable business, a coaching business is not just possible, it is inevitable.

The number one thing that you need to do in your business is change your relationship with money. Money is the underlying thread of every single thing we do in our business. We have to charge money. We have to talk about money. We have to receive money. We have to invoice our clients. We have to think about expenses. We have to deal with bookkeepers and accountants.

Business is here to be profitable. You can have a hobby business, you can have a nonprofit business, but if you are here to help people change their lives, I invite you to grow a profitable business. Which means you need to follow the money. You need to think about money and manage money. And a lot of times it's your drama or your inner voice, and we're going to talk about that around money. So we need to speak about that first. Because that's going to be your package, your offer that you're going to go out and talk about with your clients.

I know that if you're a marriage coach, you know how to coach on marriage. I know if you're a health coach, you can coach on health. If you're an executive coach… But you have to ask people for money.

Money is the last taboo. People, even with their spouses… People will say that money is the number one thing that breaks up marriage. We don't talk about money. We haven't been educated to talk about money, right? People work so hard to avoid having money conversations and looking at their money.

I'm sure now everybody's talking about politics. Everybody's talking about what's happening in Israel. We people will talk about religion. But they're just not going to talk about money. And you need to become a person who can set your prices, create your packages, make your offers, and quote prices. You have to be able to ask people for money in a way that feels really, really authentic to you, integrous to you and to your clients.

Someone asked about being a single parent and what about if this is a stretch? You know, I think that it could be a financial stretch for you to join a business program to grow your business. I 100% believe that it could be. But I'm thinking about women who are single parents and they've decided to go to a nursing school. Let's use that as something that's analogous.

So they will pay for nursing school. Now, it is possible that they will be able to get some sort of grant as a single parent. Or they're going to go to law school or something; they’re definitely in that educational system. There are resources available.

That is something that you just have to decide that this is what you were gifted to do in the world and you can figure it out. Because if you're not going to be leaning into the figuring it out part, which is going to just help you be in your power…

So many people have stories of having nothing, starting nothing. I mean, part of what I talk about as a Jewish woman, as a coach, as a money person and a business owner, my grandparents, all four of my grandparents, were kicked out of Nazi Germany.

My grandfather had a beautiful department store, a huge department store, and the Nazis took it away from him. They gave him a small pittance for it. They took away his house. My grandparents came to the United States with zero dollars. Maybe they had a few Deutschmarks, but they built their lives from nothing. My grandfather owned a big department store then he was a Fuller Brush salesman. He went knocking door to door.

So we can access money in certain ways.

Rivka Malka: We have to believe that. Something interesting that I have found to your point, Debbie, no one can know what a person's life position is like as a single mother, besides for her, herself, and the type of stress that it is to get the bills paid every month. It's just something that is between her and her son that she really lives with.

But one of the things that I've found, is that when we've had women join our school, for example, the school has been such a double support for them. And you can chime in, if this is the case for you on the chat. Because there is not that man there or that other person there telling you you're awesome, helping you stay accountable, guiding you forward.

And it's doubly helpful to women who live on their own to join a program because then they have something where they're not just the worker or the mother, where somebody is rooting for them to succeed. And it is precisely the outside programs that can give a woman that extra boost that she needs.

And paying for those programs is not always easy. Sometimes it requires some outside assistance or some other way of actually getting into these programs. But just let me know in the chat box if you are familiar with that experience, that it just bolsters a woman in a way that she wouldn't get otherwise because she is working so hard at home.

Debbie: That is really true. I appreciate that you added that, because I think it builds our resilience muscles. It helps us feel so much more empowered. Like, “Wow! Look what I did. Look at all these people who are my support network.”

And then we can really give that over to our clients. That's something that I think is so valuable, when we see how we've been resourceful and how we've been able to get it done.

I mean, depending on when you ended up on my email list today… I sent out, earlier today, an email about my dad losing his job when I was 13. I went out and I cleaned toilets to send myself to camp. But there are ways to access money. There are ways to get help. And I don't want to talk about that, how and what, at the moment.

Somebody asked about being 27 and a bit young. I have been in coaching programs with people as young as 23. I know, from the community where I got my coaching certification, from the Life Coach School… we have our own Facebook group… people are often looking for people to coach their teens. And that might be something, at 27, you could coach teens or people who are dropping out of school.

We can look at exactly what your zone of genius is, what brought you to coaching. You had something that you wanted to work on probably. And that's what gave you the motivation, the impetus to go and get your coaching certification. We can figure out what we call your “USP”, your unique selling proposition, that thing that you're here in the world to do.

I just want to offer that whatever you're here in the world to do today, you're also allowed, so to speak, to evolve. If today, for example, we would decide, based on your experience and what you have really good connections with or whatever, that teens are the thing, in two or three years from now, you could totally change your niche and coach other people.

And also, just because you're 27 doesn't mean you can't coach someone who's 54. It's okay to coach people who are older than you. You have a coaching certification behind you, which means that you have the skills to help people reach their goals and get the inner healing that they want. And age, it's just not a factor.

All right, let's go back to our presentation. The money beliefs that we have: You have to work hard to make money. Money is the root of all evil. Money is a limited resource.

When really G-d is abundant. G-d is koneh hakol. G-d owns everything. And He can give you your portion. And because He gives you your portion, you're not taking away from anybody else. In fact, money is just a resource that we just circulate around the world.

If I go to the store and I buy some milk, then the owner of the store is going to pay his workers, pay himself, pay the electricity company, pay the milk company. My few dollars that I used to buy milk is now being distributed. And all of those people are going to go out and they're going to buy more goods and services with the money.

So there is something, when you understand economics, that’s called the “circulation of money”. And that's what happens. It really is not a limited resource. There is an unlimited resource of money in the world. But we have a thought in our head, “The rich get richer, the poor get poorer. It's not meant for me. It's only people on the other side of the tracks. People in that neighborhood, but not my neighborhood.”

One of my clients talked about people with certain zip codes, right? People in that kind of neighborhood, they have money with that zip code. And my grandparents, who came from Germany with nothing, ended up in… one set of grandparents… ended up more middle class. The other one ended up in Beverly Hills, 90210… from nothing. They were there before 90210 was a thing anyway. I didn't even know what that meant because I was in Israel by the time that was a thing.

Other limiting beliefs: I can't charge that price. Nobody will pay me that much money. People like me don't make that much money. Money isn't spiritual.

And this is really a thing for women. “I'm not spiritual. I'm not G-dlike if I charge money. Money is so gashmi, so material. I can't do it.” Listen guys, I don't know how you're going to pay for your kids bar mitzvahs and weddings and paying your shul dues and stuff like that.

But if you look on the outside of every synagogue, there are names on there… every ambulance, every hospital… because people had money. The people who had money were able to give more money. Money is really a beautiful tool that we can use to take care of ourselves today, to take care of our future selves, our children. And we can bless our communities when we allow ourselves to ask for more money and receive more money.

Thank you so much for listening to the podcast today, to that piece of our masterclass. I hope you had some real big a-ha moments, some insights into your relationship with money as a business owner. Maybe the way I've said it and you've heard me say it a gazillion times before.

Or maybe what Rivka Malka added was exactly what you needed to hear to add some color, to add a little bit of depth, three-dimensional perspective to what you've been hearing me say. It's always fabulous to hear it from somebody else, especially somebody who has been doing coaching with me.

So I want to remind you that our group coaching program, Five Figure Coach Accelerator, is currently open for enrollment. Rivka Malka and I are beginning this program together for new life coaches.

And even if you have been a life coach for a while and you have not yet made $10,000 or $20,000 in your business, I encourage you to take a look at the program and see if it's what you need to grow your coaching or healing business right now.

I'm going to put the link in the show notes because it's a long link with hyphens and it doesn't translate easily by saying it. So I'm going to let you know.

Also, you can always reach out to me at Debbie@debbiesassen.com. Send me an email and tell me that you really would like some more information about this program. Let's help you build your coaching or your healing business.

There are so many people in the world and some of them are stuck. They're just not getting where they want. Some people actually have good lives, enjoyable lives, and they want to feel even better, do even more.

I was at a networking meeting this past week and I was speaking with a marriage coach, a male marriage coach. And if you need a reference, definitely feel free to reach out to me.

I mentioned to him that…. when was it? I think a year into COVID. We were still kind of half in lockdowns. My three youngest children were basically out of the house, and my marriage with my husband was good, but we wanted to make it better as we were transitioning into empty nesters.

So there are always reasons why people are hiring life coaches. It doesn't mean that your life has to be bad, but just wherever you are, you want it to be better. You want it to be amazing. You want to fulfill your life, which is why you need a life coach.

I'll put the link in the show notes, and I look forward to seeing you next week on The Jewish Entrepreneur Podcast. Bye-bye, for now.
