It’s kind of a funny time of the year to be in business because most of the world is slowing down in anticipation of the holidays.
But here in Israel, we just finished celebrating eight days of Hanukkah. All my boys (I have five; plus, three married girls) went back to school full time on Thursday. So, I’m in the revving it back of up phase.
But regardless of your schedule, I have a quick game for us to play today.
…one that will be especially inspiring for you as you wrap up yet another calendar/financial year.
Because so often, when it comes to sorting out our finances, taking charge of our money, and setting ourselves up for financial security and independence we get overwhelmed. There’s so much to do. And lots of it seems to get shoved to the bottom of the ToDo List.
Again.
Because there are eleventy billion more interesting things to do in our lives.
If you know what I mean.
So, here’s the game.
Get yourself a pen and a piece of paper.
Set the timer on your phone for 15 minutes.
(Or use a real-life egg timer, if you have one.)
And, write down all your financial wins for the year (that you can remember, of course.)
It doesn’t matter how big or how small.
Just write them down.
So maybe there’s the time you found $5 on the floor or the fact you filed your tax return on time. Perhaps you got a pay rise at work, or you began investing, or you paid off a credit card to name a few.
Whatever it is, write it down.
This fun challenge is here to help you look at your financial life a little differently.
And celebrate your wins.
Because celebrating success helps us feel good and stay motivated.
Recognizing and celebrating what went right (rather than focusing on all those dreaded tasks on your ToDo List) helps us develop a success mindset.
Conversely, when we overlook or downplay our success, we can get trapped in those feelings of I’m not enough; I have nothing to proud of.
So is your timer set?
Ready, Steady, GO!

And when you’re finished, I created a little video for you.
It’s all about a few of my financial wins this week.
How I earned $1200 an hour
I called the video How I Earned $1200 an Hour, because a five-minute investment of my time, yielded a savings of more than $100.
Wow! That’s like earning $1200 an hour.
Are you ready to play yet?
As the doors close on 2017, make sure to recognize all the effort and successes you’ve had with your money this year. And enter 2018 pumped to continue!
